The mission of the Bylaws Committee is to uphold the integrity and effectiveness of the Jamaica American Association of Central Florida’s governance framework. The committee ensures that the bylaws remain clear, current, and aligned with the organization’s mission, values, and legal responsibilities. Through regular review, thoughtful amendments, and active engagement with stakeholders, the committee promotes transparency, accountability, and organizational excellence.

Purpose of the Bylaws:

The Bylaws Committee can play a crucial role in helping the JAAOCF implement governing rules and guidelines to ensure the organization functions effectively. Here are some ways the committee can assist:

  • Review and Amend Bylaws: The committee can regularly review existing bylaws to ensure they align with current organizational needs and legal requirements. This includes modernizing language and incorporating changes that reflect the association's evolving goals.

  • Drafting Amendments: Propose amendments to address any identified gaps or issues within the current bylaws in a timely manner. This ensures that all governing documents are comprehensive and support effective governance.

  • Advisory Role: Serve as a resource for interpreting bylaw-related questions and providing guidance on parliamentary procedures. This helps in resolving any conflicts with members or inconsistencies within the organization's documents.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with members to gather input on proposed changes, ensuring that the bylaws reflect the needs and desires of the membership.

  • Annual Reviews: Conduct annual reviews of the bylaws to recommend necessary updates, ensuring they remain relevant and effective over time.

By performing these functions, the Bylaws Committee ensures that JAAOCF's governance structure supports its mission and operations efficiently.

Strong Governance... Clear Direction... Empowered Community...
The Bylaws Committee ensures that our foundation remains strong, our decisions remain guided, and our mission stays on course—today and for generations to come.
